St Augustine Church was built in 1460 and within its walls are many interesting tomb stones. At the rear of the church is Broxbourne Mill which has recently been restored. A mill was noted on the site in the doomesday book in 1086.

The New River trail can be found by following a path from the church. Sir Hugh Myddleton built the New River in the earl 1600's to bring drinking water to London from the springs in Ware.

Broxbourne Borough is famed for its ancient woods, waterways and wetlands and rolling farmland. A network of public footpaths and treks attract walkers from far and wide to enjoy the diverse landscape. Broxbourne woods is home to one of the best examples of sessile oak-hornbeam woodland. The woodland is home to muntjac deer who follow a wide circular route each year taking in Waltham Abbey and Epping Forest on their travels. Other wildlife is abundant including rabbits, foxes, voles and woodpeckers.

One path follows the Roman built Ermine Street which dates back to AD43 and connected London to York. It was on this road that King Harold went to meet William in the battle of Hastings and eventually of course his famous death by an arrow in his eye.
